The first project of $880,000 will see broadband infrastructure deployment to underserved areas of Nipissing and Parry Sound. A second project of $400,000 will enable Blue Sky Net to renew its Broadband E-Business and Market program (BEAM) which is designed to help small and medium sized enterprises expand their businesses through electronic and web-based solutions. The third and final project of $71,700 will assist 20 partnering municipalities across Northeastern Ontario digitize and synchronize information in support of economic development.

Blue Sky Net is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to the development of Information Communications Technology (ICT) solutions in an area covering the Districts of Nipissing, Almaguin Highlands, Manitoulin Island and Sudbury East. The funding announced today is provided through FedNor’s Northern Ontario Development Program. To date, the federal government has invested over $10 million in Nipissing-Timiskaming for technology infrastructure and capacity.
